WP2 Dissemination of results

This WP will be carried out by all the participating organizations; the ARI, the PHQCS, the BPI and the DAAM. The developed Integrated Pest Management Programme in controlling RPW and P. archon on palms will be a result of a scientifically-based documentation. All obtained results from Working Packages, separately for each RPW and P. archon (if any) population and area in the island will be evaluated and specific control measures will be proposed for their management of these insect species. The results will be disseminated with the following ways:

  • By preparing an informative booklet and 2 leaflets where the problem on Red Palm Weevil and Paysandisia archon on Cyprus palms will be highlighted
  • By preparing specific proposals to the Department of Agriculture for the promotion of Good Agricultural Practices (cultivating and agrotechnical measures, use of environmentally friendly methods and techniques, biological compounds, etc) in Municipalities, Communities, private and public Bodies
  • By giving a lecture (day seminar) where the results of the project will be presented
  • By developing a project website.
  • By publishing the results in local press (2-4) and peer review journals with impact factor (1-3)
  • By presenting the results in a relevant European and/or international entomology conference (1-2)
